We were delighted to be part of Dearbhaile & Matt's big day recently, so we thought we'd share a few snaps from their gorgeous wedding. It was held on 25th August 2018 at the stunning Duncton Mill Fishery near Petworth in West Sussex. This was such a gorgeous location for a relaxed summer wedding - as the name suggests, it's a working fishery with four lakes in the centre of gorgeous green countryside.
The ceremony was held outside by the lake (thanks British weather for being good to us for once!) and the after party had a bit of a festival atmosphere, with live music, VW campervans and even a mobile cocktail bar from Beetle Juice!
To fit in with the relaxed vibe of the wedding, we designed a feasting menu for 120 guests. To start, we had a grown up version of a picnic, with lots of delicious bites to share. There was ham hock with piccalilli, chorizo and red pepper scotch eggs, smoked mackerel with capers and sourdough thins, chicken parfait with red onion marmalade, vintage cheddar and charcoal crackers, stuffed peppers and roasted globe artichoke, sourdough toast and summer salad.
On to the main event, and it was one of our favourite feasting dishes - 6 hour slow roasted Sussex lamb shoulder with salsa verde. We served it with grilled halloumi, garlic potato rosti, peas and broad beans so guests could dig in and help themselves.
For dessert, it was another "help yourself" affair, with lots of delicious individual puddings to choose from, including chocolate mousse, lemon and raspberry posset and our famous macaron gardens.
