3 Sparkling Cocktails for the Festive Season


Whether you're looking for something special to serve at your wedding drinks reception, or want to have a recipe up your sleeves to impress your family with on Christmas Day, we've got just the thing. Here are three of our favourite sparkling cocktail recipes that are easy to make at home, and really delicious!

French 75

The French 75 is a classic cocktail, and it's still one of our favourites all these years later. It's strong and sharp, with just a hint of sweetness and plenty of bubbles, making it the perfect celebratory drink.

Ingredients:
50ml gin
15ml lemon juice
5ml sugar syrup
Champagne
Ice
Lemon zest

Method:
Add ice to a cocktail, then pour in the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup. Shake well for approximately 15 seconds, then strain into a champagne flute. Top up with champagne and garnish with a twist of lemon zest.

Spiced Cranberry Fizz

Cranberry is one of our favourite ingredients at this time of year, especially with a hint of winter spice. This cocktail is perfect for a Christmas soiree as it's both sophisticated and seasonal. It requires a bit of forward preparation, but it's really easy to mix up once guests arrive.

Ingredients:
50ml cranberry juice
30ml white rum
15ml orange-ginger syrup (recipe below)
Prosecco
Ice

Method:
Start by making the orange-ginger syrup by adding the zest of 2 oranges, 50g of grated fresh ginger, 140g caster sugar and 250ml water to a pan. Bring to the boil then leave to simmer until the mixture has thickened to a syrup consistency. Strain and set aside to cool. Once ready to serve, add the cranberry juice, rum and orange-ginger syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well then strain into a coupe glass and top with prosecco.

Cinnamon Pear Bellini

Swap your usual bellini for a winter take on the classic cocktail. We love this spiced pear version with a pinch of cinnamon to give it a warming twist.

Ingredients:
40ml pear puree
10ml pear brandy
Pinch of cinnamon
Prosecco
Pear slices

Method:
Add the pear puree, pear brandy and cinnamon to a flute glass and stir with a bar spoon. Top up with chilled prosecco and garnish with a thin slice of pear.
